Hi there, I'm Olivia
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What started as a short-term assignment gradually opened up a whole new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn’t in our long-range plans. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job offer and soon grew into something much more.
The initial months were overwhelming — unfamiliar systems, new routines, higher expectations. Everyday chores seemed more tangled than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and much learning on the fly. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built Pixel Orchard Plain
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to close that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when changes genuinely occur
This site is not:
- A travel authority resource
- Paid-review platform
- An ordinary travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Canada continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Olivia
